Last night I figured out what I was going to eat so that I had less *thinking* to do today! Don't you find that it can be difficult sometimes?? Sometimes I don't know what I am going to or want to eat.....and that can be a double edged sword!!!

Well my plan for the day is to head off to the gym, I have a workout scheduled with Ange, and bless my dad because my husband's work schedule got changed last minute and daycare was full so I had no one to look after Jace....but my dad volunteered to come over bright and early on his day off to look after Jace so I didnt' miss my personal training.........*thank you Dad*   Then I am off to work today and tomorrow and then we are having a superbowl party here on Sunday!!!! Now this is making me nervous!!!! My family will be having deep fried Chicken Wings (made here at my house) as well as chips and pop **YIKES** How am I ever going to hold it together????????? The one thing I am going to keep in my mind will be my Weigh In the following morning!!! So my Superbowl treats are: Rice Crackers, Unsweetened Apple sauce, veggie platter and I think some sort of grilled chicken???? Help!!!!

What are you healthy Superbowl foods??? I could really use your suggestions!!

  

 

Cravings!!

Hello again!!! Let me tell you I have had some crazy and intense cravings today!!! I feel like I just want to eat everything under the sun!! I haven't had an all out binge in fact far from it and that I'm very proud of but I have grazed a bit picking here and there. This afternoon I was wanting chocolate so instead of buying a bag of Hersey's Kisses.........mmmm my *fav*...I settled for a 100 calorie chocolate bar and it actually satisfied the craving for a while....but tonight I've been going crazy again having to reason with myself the reason's why I don't want to go all out!!!

 

There are several reasons why:

1. I have worked SO hard at the gym as well as with my eating that I don't want to blow it on a binge

2. I don't want to feel the regret and self defeat that usually follows a binge

3. I realize that I am still in a very *fragile* time during my weight loss journey and that I am learning to understand the emotional processes that influence my eating habits I have created for comfort (I think losing all my pics is a very possible trigger today....I was and still am really disappointed even though there is nothing I can do now :( ...)

4. I want to feel accomplished and proud of myself for going through the motions and learning to avoid such*false* need!! Tomorrow and even right now I am proud of myself for not giving in

5. I think this is perhaps one of the most important recognitions: I am not denying myself a treat of something I really want ( I am learning that balance) But I KNOW that there isn't a single item I would like to treat myself...I just want to have "my cake and eat it too"!!!

6. I am learning to LOVE myself...and this is all part of it!!! I am human!!

Technical Issues Not Resolved! Ugh!

Well as you know, I like to take lots of pictures to post here on the blog but a couple of weeks back I ran into tecnhical issues in retrieving my fabulous pics!! After discovering the issue was the card reader, I finally broke down yesterday and spent the money for a new one because I really feel the pics add some pizzazz to the blog! I was so excited today to take tons of pictures and document the morning....First off I took my lil guy to a place called "Adventures On Wonderland" this is the first time we've gone and basically it is like a jungle gym with endless amounts of toys for kids of varying ages to play with! Now that Jace is walking, I thought today would be a great day to get out of the house for some fun!!! He had a blast!!! And I took lots of pictures of him playing and having a great time **sigh** Then we met up with my dad for some lunch at a great local restaurant called Angelo's. Angelo's is a little bistro type restaurant that serves amazing food!!! I just love the atmosphere and I took a bunch of pics there as well **sigh** I finally got home and put Jace down for a nap and hopped on the computer to start uploading.......except all the pics got wiped out somehow!!! ARGH!!! So needless to say, I guess my technical issues are not resolved!!! ugh!

I can't believe it!!!!

I know I have been blogging alot about my exercise lately but I seriously can't stop thinking about how great it feels to be doing so well!!!! Not only am I training for a 5k but this morning at the gym I got to use the Resistance band and had to sprint up and down the hallway with my trainer adding as much resistance as she could!!! I was so proud of myself when I seen my trainer giggling and I asked her what she was laughing at and she said, "Girl, You got some FIGHT in you!!!!!!!" What an amazing feeling!!!! I just can't get enough!!! I feel like I am getting close to officially acheiving one of my short term goals to 'Fall in Love with Exercise'

A New Goal!!

So this morning while working out with Ange, she asked me if I had any other goal made other than to lose weight...and I told her that one day I hoped to run a 5k!!! I have always admired athletes and love watching groups of Sunday joggers at the park! I asked Ange if she would run it with me one day...and she said set the date!!! At first I thought she was crazy for me to set a date right.here.right.now...but then I got to thinking and decided that I just had to commit to the CIBC Run for the Cure!!! I last participated in the Run for the Cure in 2008 when I was pregnant with Jace, rather than running, I waddled!!!!!! The atmosphere was just incredible and I can't think of any where else to run my first 5k and no better cause to support other than Breast Cancer!! Plus all the PINK is irresistible!

So after telling Ange I wanted to do the Run for the Cure....she got me running!!! And it was GREAT!!!! She started me out at 30 second sprints at 4.5 at 1 minute walking intervals!!!!

 

I offically have 34 weeks to train for my 5k!!!!!!

I am so happy I think it's just great!!!! So yesterday my trainer and I put off our session until today which is less than 2 hrs away (YAY!) but I went to the gym on my own yesterday and had a fantastic workout!!!! It is amazing that yes I am still 312 lbs ( no loss last week but no gain either!) but feel so strong! This feeling of strength and accomplishment already is the best rush in life I have ever experienced!

I know something has changed from any previous attempts to my current journey because I am able to laugh at all that happened last week! Moreover, even though I didn't lose...I didn't gain either and I am totally OK with that! Realistically, life isn't always going to go my way and I have to be able to adapt and that is exactly what I did!!!

It's Monday!!!!!!!! Finally!!!

Boy am I happy it's Monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally!! I can have my fresh start now!!! It is official that last week is behind me and I can sit back and just laugh at all the inconsistencies that made it almost unbearable in terms of my weight loss journey!

I was susposed to have training this morning bright and early with Ange but she sent me a text message and told me she was having some car trouble so we rescheduled for this evening. I'm ok with that because at least I have tonight to look forward too!!! My weigh in will have to wait as well!!!

Sorry to make this a short post but my lil guy is getting impatient for some breakfast! I will check back in later!!! Have a great one!!

Boy oh boy Monday is just around the corner and I am so excited for my fresh start that I couldn't seem to retrieve throughout this week! I have  an 8am appointment with Ange and also a weigh in! The perfect way to kick start this week! Although I must admit that I did pretty well today....On the menu tonight was Chicken Corn Chowder!! YuMMO!!! This recipe has been rated 5 stars and my household agrees!!! This is perfect for a very cold winter's evening!!!

Quick Chicken-Corn Chowder


You can have this soup on the table in less than 30 minutes.


2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped celery
1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 cups 2% reduced-fat milk
2 cups chopped roasted skinless, boneless chicken breasts (about 2 breast halves)
1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen corn kernels (about 3 ears)
1 teaspoon chopped fresh or 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 (14 3/4-ounce) can cream-style corn

Melt the butter in a large Dutch oven over medium heat. Add onion, celery, and jalapeño; cook for 3 minutes or until tender, stirring frequently. Add flour; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir in milk and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; cook until thick (about 5 minutes).

Yield:  6 servings (serving size: about 1 cup)

Still not 100% back on program yet!!!

I wish Monday would just hurry up and get here all ready!!! For some reason I feel like I need closure to the past week so that I can move on and have a GREAT upcoming week!!! Last week was filled with fear and anxiety for me after losing my first 5lbs! The success scared me!! Seems silly right? But what I've come to understand is that I can be fearful of change and in particular when it comes to my weight, the new change in the idea of "I'm DOING it" is kinda scary when you know that in the past you have failed miserably all because of not perservering!!!! So in saying that, I am perservering...when Monday rolls around, I am going for a Weigh In...and despite the results, I am moving on leaving this past week in the dust far far from my mind!

A little off track.....

Ok so I kinda got off track this past week...but tomorrow is the start of a new week and I am setting refocused goals for myself! This is what loving yourself is all about! Recognizing that yes life can get a little 'hairy' sometimes but moving past the difficult times and continuing on is what matters most!  I have to be sure to remember these words tonight when I go for my weigh in tomorrow. I don't expect to have lost any weight since last week but I am secretly hoping I didn't gain either! But whatever the result I already have a plan in the making for this week ahead!!!!
